ECONMYNEXT - An investor forum in Australia had drawn over 150 institutional investors, high-net-worth individuals and Sri Lanka-born individuals living in the country, the Colombo Stock Exchange said.

The forum was organized by the CSE and Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka.

CSE Chairman Vajira Kulatilaka, who is an investment banker, said Sri Lanka's stock were attractively valued now with relatively low price to earnings multiples.

State Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs Niroshan Perera said the government was making administrative and economic reforms, and improving the ease of doing business.

"On behalf of the Sri Lankan Government, I would like to pledge our continued commitment to facilitating investments and stimulating the establishment of transparent and well-governed institutions," he was quoted as saying.

These sermons from the pulpit, a strange repentance of sins committed by the trading community, both investors and brokers in those cesspit days, will not see any sensible investors coming to our markets. Look at the way the retailers have virtually boycotted the stock market and the foreigners pulling out from the financial markets as well.
Theses trips would have borne fruit if the atmosphere was cleared off the past muck, and as promised, the culprits(scumbags) were brought to justice and sent to prison. Crossings, of which has been the focus , is not a reflection of a market generating healthy com petition.
