Sri Lanka wildlife assets showcased in China

ECONOMYNEXT - Sri Lanka's wide variety natural assets concentrated on small area island ranging from blue whales to leopards, which makes it one of best all-around destinations in world for wildlife in the world was showcased to a Chinese audience, the consulate in Guangzhou said.
Gehan de Silva Wijeyeratne, a wildlife author who has helped popularize and take to a wide audience Sri Lanka's unique wildlife resources including had showcased the country through an interactive session, the consulate said.
Shanika Dissanayake, Consul General of Sri Lanka said the consulate was keen to promote the rich and diverse wildlife in Sri Lanka which is in total contrast to the size of the country.
De Silva Wijeyeratne, has pointed out that Sri Lanka's is probably the easiest place in the world to sea blue whales and has helped raise awareness of other unique events such as an elephant gathering in Minneriya. (Colombo/Feb08/2018)
